Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann has been linked to the Edmonton Oilers, although it seems like the team has other ideas.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers are very likely to do some business at the trade deadline this year.
Overall, the Oilers want guys like Bobby McMann, who are depth pieces that can help them during a potential Stanley Cup Finals run.
Meanwhile, the Leafs need to sell off some assets, and fast. Brad Treliving is adamant about getting rid of guys next month, and the Oilers are perfect for doing business.
Having said that, it should come as no surprise that ahead of the roster freeze, the Oilers called the Leafs about a deal.
Edmonton Oilers reach out to the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to David Pagnotta, the Leafs actually reached out about none other than Nicolas Roy and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Shockingly, McMann was not part of their inquiry, which is something that certainly surprised quite a few Maple Leafs fans.
Roy and OEL are two players who have been rumored to be on the way out, especially since their value is high right now.
OEL is having a phenomenal season, while Roy is considered to be a depth center who can give a team a nice dose of offense sometimes.
Ultimately, there is no telling what is next for the Maple Leafs, as Treliving has not hinted at which players, in particular, will be dealt.
If you are a Leafs fan, you can't help but be feel just a little bit anxious about what is coming next.
