It's confirmed for Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has some difficult decisions to make, especially with his team consistently losing big games.
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to the Detroit Red Wings in overtime, which allowed them to pick up one point in the standings.
Unfortunately, for the Leafs, this is not going to be good enough if they want to make the playoffs, even in a Wild Card spot.
The team just isn't playing well enough, and when they do play well, either the consistency isn't there, or their rivals pick up points as well.
This has led to some difficult questions going into the trade deadline, such as whether or not the Maple Leafs should even be thinking about adding.
Are the Maple Leafs buying or selling?
According to insider Nick Kypreos, general manager Brad Treliving has officially made up his mind on this topic, and it is a strong statement.
Simply put, the team is going all in. The Leafs still believe they can do something here, and as a result, they will look to be buyers.
The team has made it clear that it would be interested in puck-moving defenseman like Dougie Hamilton, as well as some first-line talent.
This team needs to score more goals, so these are certainly the correct archetypes to go after. Whether or not they have the assets to do it is another story.
Ultimately, it's becoming more difficult to justify the Leafs as a buyer going forward. Having said that, it's clear that Brad Treliving wants to make a big splash.
If the Leafs can get a win against the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Friday, then perhaps their case to be buyers will be a lot stronger.
