Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was not happy with his team last night as they had a disastrous performance against the Montreal Canadiens.

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs had one of their worst games of the season so far, as they lost to the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 5-2.
Joseph Woll got pulled during the game, as he let in four goals on 25 shots. This was not Woll's fault, especially as the Leafs' defense had a truly catastrophic performance.
For head coach Craig Berube, this was the worst-case scenario for his team. They have now lost seven out of their last eight, and are just one point away from being dead last in the Atlantic Division.

Craig Berube calls out the Toronto Maple Leafs

After the game, Berube was asked about his team's impotence, and as you can imagine, he was angry with how the team failed to meet the moment.
We can't lose all the momentum because they scored a couple goals. We're a veteran team. It's inexcusable.
For Berube, last night's game was a bit of an existential crisis, especially with questions about whether or not he is going to be fired.

Will the Toronto Maple Leafs fire Craig Berube?

There is a large contingent of Toronto Maple Leafs fans who would love to see Berube get the axe right now, especially when you consider the current losing skid.
However, the Leafs have a ton of injuries right now. Auston Matthews, Matthew Knies, Brandon Carlo, Nicolas Roy, Anthony Stolarz, and Chris Tanev are all out of the lineup.
With that in mind, it seems unlikely that the Maple Leafs are going to fire a head coach when he doesn't even have a team at full strength.
Regardless, a record of 9-10-3 is simply not acceptable, and the front office will have to make some very difficult decisions going forward.
