It's confirmed for Dennis Hildeby and the Toronto Maple Leafs

Just moments ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that Dennis Hildeby would be sent down to the Toronto Marlies.

Anthony Stolarz is finally returning from an injury, and it has left the Leafs with no other choice but to send down a goalie.

Dennis Hildeby was the very obvious choice here, especially when you consider how he is still young and still has a lot to learn.

Now, he will get to go back to the Toronto Marlies, where he can develop his skills further and continue his ascension with the franchise.

Hildeby had himself a solid run with the Leafs, and it really does feel as though he is on the precipice of something truly special.

Unfortunately, Stolarz and Joseph Woll are clogging up the depth chart, and as long as they are Leafs players, Hildeby will remain in the AHL.

One has to wonder what his AHL campaign will look like now that he has all of this NHL experience. Surely, he will be more effective with the Marlies.

At the end of the day, the Maple Leafs are a team that has some decent depth in net, and they will be looking to flex that for years to come.

Hildeby is someone that Leafs fans like right now, and we don't expect that to change anytime soon.

We just hope that he gets ample opportunities, as he absolutely deserves them. It seems pretty clear that he has a bright future at the NHL level.
