Los Angeles Kings Provide Update on Kevin Fiala

Two days ago Team Switzerland's Kevin Fiala fell victim to a big hit delivered from Team Canada's Tom Wilson, the two fell awkwardly and Kevin Fiala ended up being stretchered off the ice with a leg injury.
The Los Angeles Kings have confirmed that Fiala underwent successful surgery to repairfractures in his leg and will miss the rest of the season.

It was a scary situation when Fiala went down, it wasn't just a leg fracture that was feared, but potentially a hip dislocation, which could lead to bone death if it doesn't recover properly. It was a tough sight to see as the arena went silent, and an unfortunate by product of this game. Fortunately everything went well, and Fiala can begin rehab, according to the Kings on X.

The Kings will be losing their second best scorer right before they are in the final stretch to make the playoffs. The Kings have struggled all year to score and not having Fiala will make things even harder going forward. Expect the Kings to be aggressive at the NHL Trade Deadline, looking for a depth scoring winger, but the market is looking pretty thin as we approach march 6th. The hockey world is hoping for a speedy recovery for Fiala, and to see him on the ice next season.
