There were a handful of NHL players who have filed for salary arbitration in recent days, among them being Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nicolas Robertson.
It was a rare update that Robertson has given about his personal life, which he said last year during an interview that he prefers to keep more private.
Probably because of being in Toronto, I stay away from (social media). I could post more stuff, but my life is kind of boring, and that's how I like it.
All NHL salary arbitration hearings are set to take place from July 20 through August 4, while the players who filed can still negotiate for a new contract with their teams.
If the independent arbiter awards the player a deal worth an AAV (average annual value) of over $4.85 million, the team can decide to cut ties with the player, who would become a UFA.
