The Las Vegas Golden Knights recently traded for Rasmus Andersson; however, the defenseman has yet to play a game for the team.
Rasmus Andersson is a defenseman who the Toronto Maple Leafs were looking to trade for this season, but in the end, it didn't work out.
Instead, Andersson went to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, yet he has not played a single game for them so far.
The Golden Knights are in Toronto on Friday to play the Toronto Maple Leafs in what will be Marner's first game back in the city.
However, when it comes to Andersson, it appears as though the Golden Knights could be at a disadvantage, and it is all because of external factors.
Rasmus Andersson dealing with external issues
According to reports, Andersson is struggling with immigration problems, and it has made it impossible for him to get across the border.
Bruce Cassidy says Rasmus Andersson has been dealing with some immigration issues. He will not play in Boston tonight, unclear if he will be able to play against the Maple Leafs tomorrow but is a possibility since he's in Canada.
Previously, he was with the Calgary Flames, and was permitted to work in Canada. In the United States, it is a much different story.
With geopolitical tensions the way they are right now, this is not surprising news in the least, and we wonder when Andersson will be back on the ice.
It is unfortunate for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, but it is good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs, at least right now.
Only time will tell how this plays out, and if the Golden Knights can figure it out.
