Maple Leafs make four major roster moves involving Joseph Woll, Auston Matthews, & Easton Cowan

With the Toronto Maple Leafs struggling to get any good mojo going, it appears as though the team has opted to make a major change, which could help the team.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in the midst of a four-game losing streak, although that doesn't mean the team can just stop playing.
They have to keep things going; otherwise, the season is going to be over fast. The wins have to start piling up, although everything appears to be against them.
On Friday, the team decided to make a plethora of roster moves, and it appears as though these moves are a good sign of things to come. However, there are certainly some negatives.
Toronto Maple Leafs make numerous roster moves
For instance, the big negative here is that Auston Matthews has been placed on the injured reserve as he continues to deal with a lower-body injury.
However, on the flip side of that, Easton Cowan has been called up, and we could see him back in the lineup very soon.
Meanwhile, the biggest news of all is that Joseph Woll has been reactivated to the roster, which means he could start as soon as the weekend.
Maple Leafs G Artur Akhtyamov has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies.
F Auston Matthews has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to November 11, 2025.
F Easton Cowan has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
G Joseph Woll has been activated to the roster.

Artur Akhtyamov is being sent back down to the Toronto Marlies, although we imagined that this would happen with Woll coming back.
While the Matthews new is certainly a drag, it is good to see Woll back with the team, as he will certainly be eager to answer the call.
Only time will tell whether or not any of these roster moves get the Maple Leafs back into the win column.
