Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving had to answer some questions about Jonas Siegel, whose new report is making waves in Leafs Nation.
Yesterday, a new report from Jonas Siegel of The Athletic sent shockwaves throughout the Toronto Maple Leafs fanbase, and for good reason.
In the report, it was revealed that the team had let go of a sports scientist, as well as a member of the performance department.
It was suggested that these dismissals ultimately led to the proliferation of the team's inner-workings and have actually led to the team's injury problems.
Overall, this story has been a complete nightmare for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have been forced to answer for what has been alleged.
Brad Treliving talks Jonas Siegel
General manager Brad Treliving was on TSN 1050 on Thursday, where he was given an opportunity to set the record straight.
It was here that he decided to go off on Siegel, claiming that the reporter is pushing a false narrative and seems to have a negative agenda.
The slant of the article is, quite frankly, completely incorrect.
At the end of the day, Treliving is expected to go out and defend the franchise, so his latest comments are not a surprise.
Having said that, the team is playing terrible hockey right now. They are 10 points out of a playoff spot and have lost six in a row.
The issues go beyond just the staff. The players are the real issue, and this needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.
