Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has made some mistakes as a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and last night, he did it again.

Mitch Marner is one of the best players in the NHL, and there is no denying that the Toronto Maple Leafs have missed him and his playmaking abilities this season.
However, there have been some rough moments for Marner with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. He has made some embarrassing mistakes that have cost his team some games.
Overall, the Golden Knights remain one of the best teams in the NHL. They are going to be Stanley Cup contenders, but in order to win, they need Marner to be playing his best hockey.
Last night against the New Jersey Devils, Marner certainly had a bit of a stinker as he finished with zero points and a blunder in the shootout that ultimately led to a loss.

Mitch Marner messes up in the shootout

As you can see below, Marner scored. However, he scored because he shot the puck and then put in his own rebound. Of course, this is against the rules.
Marner's shootout attempts have been suspect this season, and this is yet another example of that. It's yet another moment that Leafs fans can have some fun about.
The one thing Leafs cannot have fun about is the fact that the Golden Knights are first in their division, while the Maple Leafs are currently in sixth place.

Mitch Marner's stats with the Golden Knights

Mitch Marner's season with the Golden Knights has been interesting, to say the least. Through 32 games, he has a total of six goals, 26 assists, and 32 points.
His goal totals are extremely weak right now, even though he is averaging a point per game. One has to wonder why the goals simply aren't coming for him right now.
Either way, the Golden Knights seem to be happy with Marner, as he and Jack Eichel remain the stars of this team. Whether or not he breaks his playoff curses this season, remains to be seen.
