Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner has had his fair share of struggles this season, and Toronto Maple Leafs analysts can't help but question it.

When Mitch Marner left the Toronto Maple Leafs during the summer, a debate was had about whether or not he would be able to excel with the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
The Knights are a team that should be contending to win a Stanley Cup, so it only makes sense that the feeling was that Marner would be in a good place.
However, the start of this season has come with its fair share of struggles, and it remains to be seen if the forward can finally find his place alongside Jack Eichel.

Does Mitch Marner regret leaving Toronto?

In fact, during a conversation on TSN 1050 'OverDrive,' former NHLer Mike Johnson revealed that the reason Marner hasn't had his best season so far has been simple.
The fact is, Jack Eichel has more seniority on the Golden Knights, and in many respects, has the same role as Marner when it comes to being a facilitator.
As a result, Eichel has been more puck-dominant, and it has left Marner trying to figure out what his role is and how he can best utilize his skills.
It's not his team.
This is not an easy situation for the forward to be in, and we can only imagine how he must feel with this change of scenery and not being the man anymore.

Mitch Marner's stats through 29 games tell the story

Last night against the New York Islanders, Marner had a goal and an assist to bring his totals up to 29 points in 29 games. This is a point-per-game pace, although he is on pace for fewer than 20 goals.
This would be one of his worst seasons in about a decade, and that is not what the Golden Knights signed up for when they gave him an eight-year deal worth $96 million.
Only time will tell whether or not Marner can turn the tide and help this Golden Knights team pick up its second Stanley Cup.
