Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner found himself in a war against the Ottawa Senators, only to get punked by veteran forward Lars Eller.
On Wednesday night, Mitch Marner and the Las Vegas Golden Knights took on the Ottawa Senators in what was yet another overtime loss for the VGK.
They have eight overtime and shootout losses this year, which feels like some sort of record given the fact that we're only 23 games into the season. The Knights could be a lot better, and Marner is part of that equation.
Although the results aren't the biggest story to come out of last night's game. Instead, everyone is talking about the altercation between Mitch Marner and Lars Eller.

In the clip below, you can see Eller yelling at Marner, who is hiding behind his teammates on the bench. He has an iPad in his hand and is giving it right back to Eller.
It is unclear how this altercation started, although it is clear as day that Marner is livid with whatever is going on, and so is Eller. In the end, this conversation ended things.
As you can imagine, this clip began going viral on X, and there was a whole discourse cycle around it. After all, Mitch Marner's reputation with the Toronto Maple Leafs was that of a crybaby.

In fact, the fans leaned into that on Thursday, as the reactions below showcase some NHL observers who aren't too fond of the way Mitch Marner plays hockey.
Toughness is not the only thing Marner should be worried about this season. He has 22 points in 23 games, which is nowhere near his pace from last season.
It appears as though Marner is struggling to acclimate to his new team, and their record speaks volumes to just how much the team is failing to fire on all cylinders.
The Golden Knights were seen as Cup contenders at the start of the season, although it is hard to put them in that category right about now.
