Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is speaking to the media later today, and there are some wild theories on what is going to be announced.

Brad Treliving is being placed in a very difficult spot right now as the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the midst of a five-game losing streak.
Overall, the Leafs are a good team, at least on paper. But the results on the ice have been hideous, and the injuries have taken their toll.
With that in mind, there has been this sense that the Leafs are going to have to make some big trades very soon. Unfortunately, that might not be enough.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have to make tough choices

According to Chris Johnston, behind the scenes, the Maple Leafs are acknowledging that trades are not going to be enough.
In fact, there is this feeling that some "tough decisions" could be coming, which sounds extremely ambiguous, and if you're a fan, you can't help but be scared.
CJ on the CJ Show says the view in the Leafs organization is they can't trade their way out of this, that they aren't a trade away from fixing this. They're not quite there yet, but if the wins don't come, they're going to be faced with some tough decisions.
With the Leafs falling to seventh in the Atlantic Division, it feels as though the Maple Leafs could be on their way to tanking for a top-five pick.
Their 2026 first-round pick belongs to the Boston Bruins, although it is top-five protected, which tells you all you need to know about a potential tank.
Having said that, the fans want this team to contend, and they are going to keep the hope alive, even if the roster isn't there right now.
Only time will tell whether or not the Toronto Maple Leafs can get their stuff together, and prove themselves to be the team fans have wanted all along.
