Nick Robertson Gets Hit with the Ultimate Slap in the Face as Maple Leafs Unveil New Lineup
Things have been trending downward for Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson as of late, and the newest lineup suggests he might be done in Toronto for good.
Nick Robertson and the Toronto Maple Leafs have had a rocky relationship since the very beginning. Robertson wants a bigger role with the team, and the Leafs have been reluctant to make that happen.
The reluctance has been for good reason, as Robertson hasn't always been the best player. There have been times where the effort has been lacking, and we saw that in last season's playoffs.
This summer, the forward got a new contract and a raise. However, his role with the team has not been solidified, especially with trade rumors mounting.
Nick Robertson gets bad news from the Toronto Maple Leafs
Today, at practice, Robertson got his worst news of training camp thus far. With the team going with an NHL-ready lineup, Robertson found himself on the fifth line.

Meanwhile, Easton Cowan, a wannabe rookie, was placed on the fourth line. Simply put, Robertson's role has been snatched by the new young guy in town.

This is the worst news Robertson could have received today, even if there is a chance for him to get his spot back.
Being on the outside looking in will not satisfy him one bit, and we imagine this could very well lead to the forward demanding a trade.
Over the course of the upcoming week, we will get a much better feel for what is about to happen to the Maple Leafs forward.
