With Anthony Stolarz signing a new deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs, there are some fans who are finding a way to make this about Mitch Marner.
Earlier today, Anthony Stolarz signed a four-year deal worth $15 million with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it is sure to turn some heads.
Overall, this was a great move from the Leafs, who were able to sign their star goaltender at a discount. This marks a new era in Leafs history where the team signs guys for fair market value.
Of course, in the past, this was not the case as former general manager Kyle Dubas botched negotiations with a plethora of stars, including Mitch Marner.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans hate Mitch Marner
In fact, when Stolarz signed his deal today, some used it as an excuse to go after Mitch Marner for his lack of commitment to the team.
Case in point, you have the fan below who says Stolarz could have chosen to use Joseph Woll as leverage, but didn't.
stolarz could have been a scumbag and used woll's situation against the Leafs and instead he signed a team friendly deal and will be there for his teammate.

It's probably not healthy for Toronto Maple Leafs fans to consistently talk about Mitch Marner in this way, especially when he has nothing to do with the situation.
The forward has gone on to play with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. He has made his decision, and the fanbase should probably move on.
Having said that, there is a real opportunity here for the Maple Leafs to show that they are one of the best teams in the league, even without Marner.
It's not going to be easy, but with this roster, it is most definitely possible.
