Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was none too pleased on Thursday night after a pretty bad shutout loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost 4-0 to the Washington Capitals on Thursday night, and at this point, there are a ton of cynical fans who believe it is over for this team.
It is easy to see why folks would feel that way. Players like Auston Matthews and William Nylander aren't putting in any effort, while the team sits one point out of last place in the Atlantic Division.
During post-game interviews, most players beat around the bush and refuse to give a real answer or reason why this Leafs team is struggling.
It has been frustrating to watch, and there are plenty of fans out there who are just simply sick of all this. It's exhausting, and the Leafs are not living up to their potential.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson calls out the truth about the Maple Leafs

However, there are some players who are still very much willing to tell the truth, and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson just so happens to be one of them.
After last night's game, Ekman-Larsson noted how the team isn't playing with any urgency, and that the power play has also been a failure.
They were more desperate than us. We were pretty flat the whole night; didn't really create anything the compete has for to be there every single day. I don't think we deserved better tonight. Turned too many pucks over and had to defend a little too much and the power play is going to have to step up too. You don't get any points for looking good.
Over the course of the last 16 games, the Maple Leafs have had a power play percentage of about 10 percent, which is truly awful. For the season, it stands at 14.1 percent.
One has to wonder what is next for the Maple Leafs. Do they make a big trade and shake up this roster? Do they go for a rebuild? Or do they fire the head coach?
Whatever the answer is, it's probably not going to satisfy the fanbase, which is out for blood right about now.
