Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is going to the Olympics, and he will have to go up against Leafs captain Auston Matthews.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson is one of the few Toronto Maple Leafs players going to the Winter Olympics in a couple of weeks.
In fact, he will be playing for Team Sweden alongside fellow Maple Leafs star William Nylander. Having said that, he will also be a rival with Leafs captain Auston Matthews.
Matthews will be the captain of Team USA, and there is no denying that Sweden and the United States will be competing for the Gold.
Of course, Team Canada is the favorite right now, but there is a good chance for Sweden to come through and have a good performance.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson on going to the Winter Olympics

OEL was recently asked about the Olympics, and what he thinks about having to go up against his captain, Matthews.
He noted that there are some mixed feelings here, but he understands that it is a game, and that these things are going to happen.
It's gonna be interesting, I haven't done that in a while now obviously I've got mixed feelings it's gonna be a challenge unbelievable player, lucky I have him on my team for most of the year. There will probably be a little chirping going on.
Aside from the Olympics, the Maple Leafs have a lot to deal with right now. They are trying to make the playoffs, but aren't winning enough games.
The fans are starting to get a bit antsy, and they will be looking for this team to finally start performing, sooner rather than later.
If they cannot do that, then there are going to be a ton of angry Leafs fans out there, and this season, could be lost.
