Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander found himself in some trouble with the NHL on Sunday following an incident involving the TSN cameras.
William Nylanderr angered the NHL community on Sunday when he gave the middle finger to the TSN cameraman during a game against the Colorado Avalanche.
Nylander is currently injured and was spending the game in the press box with some of his other injured teammates.
In the end, it was a pretty bad decision, as it was revealed that the NHL would be looking into the incident, where they would look to hand down a suspension or a fine.
Leafs fans have been waiting all day for the league to make an official decision, and it appears as though we finally have an answer.
NHL makes a decision on William Nylander
The 5 PM deadline has come and gone, and the NHL has decided to fine Nylander a total of $5000.
With this in mind, it is safe to say that Nylander is going to be getting off scot-free here from a suspension perspective.
Nylander ended up apologizing for the move, so it is easy to see why the league would turn a blind eye and simply let him off with a warning.
He was frustrated with how bad his team was playing, and took it out on the camera when he simply should have known better.
Whether or not the forward will be punished internally is something that still very much remains to be seen.
This is something we will keep tabs on and bring you the latest updates for.
