The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing some retched hockey right now, and one former NHL head coach can't help but laugh at this team's struggles.
If you have been paying attention to the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, then you would know that the team has not been very good.
The top players are skating like they don't care, and now, the job of their head coach, Craig Berube, hangs in the balance.
There is a large contingent of media members who believe the head coach is going to lose his job, while others think the Leafs might just blow it all up and start a rebuild.
Needless to say, there isn't a lot to smile about right now. However, personalities like former NHL head coach Bruce Boudreau are injecting humor into the situation.
Bruce Boudreau makes light of the Maple Leafs struggles
While on 'Leafs Morning Take,' Boudreau made a hilarious comment, noting that the Leafs look like they are taking sleeping pills right now.
He used Ambien as the specific drug, and you can't help but chuckle, because at the end of the day, his observation isn't far off.
I don't know what it is, it's like they're taking sleeping pills before the games. Instead of sniffers on the bench, they're taking..Ambien. That's how they look sometimes, there's just no energy.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are second-to-last in the Atlantic Division, and are going up against the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators this weekend.
If they lose both of these games, there is a world in which they get their head coach fired, and that would be a true shame.
For now, it feels like there is a lot of doom and gloom around this team, and that will only change if they start winning again.
