Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves is now on the San Jose Sharks, and tonight, he will have an opportunity to get a bit of revenge.
Last season, Ryan Reaves was unable to get anything going with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as he barely got into any fights, and his production was awful.
Eventually, Reaves was placed on waivers and subsequently sent down to the Toronto Marlies, where he appeared to be frustrated with his situation.
During the Summer, Reaves was traded to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Henry Thrun, who will make his Leafs debut tonight.
Meanwhile, Reaves will be in the lineup for the Sharks, and he has something to say about the way he was traded by the Leafs last season.
Ryan Reaves explains what happened with the Maple Leafs
According to Chris Johnston of TSN and The Athletic, the enforcer doesn't have any current ill-will towards the Maple Leafs organization.
However, he claims that communication was poor last season, and that there were times when the organization made him feel as though his career was over.
They basically said that I couldn't play in this league anymore. And I'm back.
This season, Reaves has played a total of 25 games and has only managed two goals and zero assists.
Despite these totals, Reaves is seen as useful to the Sharks organization because he is able to defend the team's young guns from being run over.
Whether or not he plays beyond this season, still remains to be seen, although considering he is on an expiring contract, it is unlikely.
