Maple Leafs deliver good news and bad news with starting goalie decision against the Sharks

The Toronto Maple Leafs have had some starting goalie issues due to injuries, and with Joseph Woll looking to work his way back, fans have remained hopeful.
Last week against the Carolina Hurricanes, goaltender Joseph Woll went down with a lower-body injury, and it was the worst thing that could have happened to the Leafs at that time.
Anthony Stolarz was already out of the lineup, and with Woll gone, the team had to call up Artur Akhtyamov from the AHL, just to get a backup goalie.
Meanwhile, Dennis Hildeby has been thrust into the spotlight, where he has been tasked with being the team's starter until Woll can work his way into the lineup.
Tonight, the Leafs are playing the San Jose Sharks, and it has been a week since Woll's injury. Leafs head coach Craig Berube said Woll would be gone for a week, which led to a belief that the goalie might be ready for tonight.
Who is the Toronto Maple Leafs starting goalie tonight?
The bad news is simple. Woll is not ready to go tonight. However, the good news is that Hildeby is going to get the start following his incredible shutout against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He currently has a goals-against average of 2.15 and a save percentage of .936, which is simply sensational when you consider the circumstances.
Woll was on the ice at morning skate, which tells us that there is a good chance he will be back relatively soon and is making positive strides.
The Maple Leafs will play the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, and there is a decent chance that we will see Woll back in the Maple Leafs lineup for that one.
If not, the Leafs are back in action on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, which will be a fun Original Six matchup.
As for Anthony Stolarz, he remains out of the lineup, and it is unclear if and when he will return to the lineup. This is an ongoing story we will continue to cover.
