Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton was injured a couple of weeks ago thanks to a hit from Nikita Zadorov, and now, he is working his way back to the lineup.

Scott Laughton missed the first month of action with a lower-body injury. In his first game back, he had an immediate impact, although in his second game, he was already injured.
The forward took a huge hit to the head from Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov. It was one of those hits that had fans demanding some supplemental discipline.
As we've already reported, this discipline never came. Instead, Zadorov was left off the hook, and a few days later, he took Auston Matthews out of the lineup.
On Thursday night, Laughton is expected to be back in the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and earlier today, he met with the media.

Scott Laughton talks Nikita Zadorov hit

It was here that Laughton was asked about Zadorov's hit and whether or not he felt it was malicious and deserved more scrutiny.
This led to a classy and realistic answer from Laughton, who noted that it was a clean hit and was only as bad as it was due to the size difference.
I thought it was a clean hit He's 6-7. I'm 6-foot.
Laughton will be playing on a line with Steven Lorentz and Easton Cowan tonight. During the preseason, these three played exceptionally well together.
With the Leafs looking for a win against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, it feels like this chemistry is going to be a good luck charm for the team.
Getting Laughton back is going to be a huge net benefit for the Leafs, and we can only hope that he is able to stay healthy from this point forward.
