The Toronto Maple Leafs have run into injury issues with Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz, which could open the door for a major goaltending trade.

Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll are currently out of the Maple Leafs' lineup, and it remains to be seen when both of them will be returning.
Of course, it is believed that Woll will be back in the lineup at some point this week, either Thursday against the San Jose Sharks or Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers.
Meanwhile, Stolarz has not skated in almost a month, and it is unclear what is going on with him and whether or not he will be able to come back anytime soon.
With these two out, there is increased chatter about the Maple Leafs making some kind of trade, and it seems like the perfect goalie is close to being available.

Jordan Binnington could be made available by the St. Louis Blues

That goaltender is Stanley Cup winner Jordan Binnington. According to Chris Johnston, Binnington could be made available via trade, and there are plenty of teams that would want him.
Jordan Binnington's name is at least a little in the rumour mill, I think it's more just the fact that it's not going well in St. Louis, there's not a ton of goaltenders out there available for trade; he's 1 year [from UFA]
Of course, there are a few hurdles to securing a Binnington trade. He has a partial no-move clause and can pick and choose where he is traded to.
Furthermore, the Blues are going to want a lot from a team like the Maple Leafs, especially since Binnington has won a Cup and is likely going to be an Olympic medalist, if all goes according to plan for Team Canada.

Jordan Binnington has struggles this season

Jordan Binnington has largely struggled this season, although that could certainly be chalked up to his team not being very good whatsoever.
The goaltender has a goals-against average of 3.29 and a save percentage of .875 with a record of 7-7-5, which is absolutely atrocious given his pedigree.
Perhaps a change of scenery would be right up Binnington's alley. After all, we've seen him steal games when the lights are the brightest. This is something the Leafs desperately need.
