Toronto Maple Leafs finally provide an update on Chris Tanev, and it's not good

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev is dealing with a concussion right now, and the latest update on his condition should certainly concern fans.
Chris Tanev was one of the best defensemen on the Toronto Maple Leafs last season as he was blocking shots and standing firm in front of the net.
In fact, one could make the argument that Tanev is the team's most important defenseman. Unfortunately, he has been dealing with concussions this season.
After returning from a concussion against the Philadelphia Flyers, Tanev got clipped in the head by Matvei Michkov and had to be taken off on a stretcher.
That was almost a month ago, and the defenseman still hasn't managed to return to the lineup. This is bad news for the team, and it appears as though things aren't getting any better.
Latest Chris Tanev update is not good for the Toronto Maple Leafs
While speaking to the media today, Leafs head coach Craig Berube was asked about Chris Tanev, and it led to a very honest answer.
Simply put, the Leafs are going to evaluate Tanev again. While he is skating, there isn't much of a timeline on when he will return.
He's going to have to get looked at here soon, I think, again, and see where he's at. He's skating, though. Feels okay. I have no real update other than that on him.
With Brandon Carlo requiring surgery, there is no doubt that the Leafs could benefit from some extra help right now.
However, if we cannot get a timeline on Tanev, then the Leafs may actually be in a bit of trouble, which is not what the fanbase wanted to hear.
We can only wish Tanev well right now as he looks to get through this very difficult time in his career.
