Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has yet to return to the lineup, and according to Craig Berube, it is going to be a while before we see him.
Anthony Stolarz had a difficult start to the NHL season as he found himself playing almost every single game in Joseph Woll's absence.
Unfortunately, this did not work out for Stolarz, as his goals-against average hit 3.50 and his save percentage has steadily been below .890.
Now, the netminder is injured, and there is no telling when he will come back. The Leafs have been very secretive about his injury status, and the fans are getting worried.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs play the Florida Panthers, and while Woll is set to be the starter, there is still this concern about the goaltending situation.
Craig Berube reveals the truth about Anthony Stolarz
Today, head coach Craig Berube was asked about Stolarz, and whether or not there are any updates on the goaltender. As it turns out, there aren't.
In fact, Berube's comments do not bode well for the team. He claims that the goaltender has not skated, and there has been no improvement.
No real improvement there
This is not helping the anxiety of Toronto Maple Leafs fans right now. In fact, it feels like the Stolarz injury could even require surgery, although there is no way of knowing. The Leafs won't say anything concrete, and thus speculation begins.
Overall, the Leafs are better when Stolarz and Woll are both healthy. They were an amazing tandem last season, and it would be great to get them back together.
There is no timeline on a return for Stolarz, and for now, the fanbase is just going to have to be patient.
