Toronto Maple Leafs Get Horrible Injury News Concerning Scott Laughton

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton has suffered a lower-body injury that will keep him out of the lineup for a surprisingly long amount of time.
Last night, Scott Laughton was in the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup against the Detroit Red Wings, and everything seemed to be going okay.
Unfortunately, this morning, the Maple Leafs got some truly horrendous news as it was revealed that Laughton is suffering from a lower-body injury.
As a result, he is now week-to-week, and it remains to be seen who will replace him at center on the fourth line. It is likely to be David Kampf, although there is no word yet.

Going into this season, Laughton was looking to bounce back after a disappointing start to his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He spent the final 20 games of the regular season attempting to learn head coach Craig Berube's system, and it took him quite a bit of time to adjust.
However, throughout the preseason, Laughton was looking better than ever, and his chemistry with Easton Cowan and Steven Lorentz was something to behold.
What will the Toronto Maple Leafs do without Scott Laughton
Laughton's injury will certainly put the team's plans on hold when it comes to trading either David Kampf or Calle Jarnkrok.
Both of these players can slot into the fourth line, and while it isn't ideal, this is why you like to have some extra players on your roster from time to time.
