Toronto Maple Leafs prospect out of a job after being traded three times in three years
Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Sam McCue has bounced around the OHL quite a bit over the past few years, and it doesn't seem like his situation is improving.
Sam McCue was a seventh-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2024, and while he is unlikely to be an NHL guy, he is still someone the Leafs are paying attention to.
He started his OHL career with the Peterborough Petes before going to the Owen Sound Attack. From there, he was sent to the Flint Thunderbirds.
Once again, he was traded, this time to the Brantford Bulldogs, where he was going to get to play with fellow Leafs prospect Ben Danford.
So far this season, McCue has 16 points in 25 games, and hasn't been what the team was hoping for. In fact, it appears as though McCue is on the move again.

According to Leafs Nation News on X, there are rumblings that McCue is done in Brantford, and that he will be going somewhere else.
As it turns out, there is still no telling whether or not McCue is traded or straight up released, which just shows the Bulldogs are not happy.

This is a bad look for McCue, and we await new details about this fallout and why it came to this despite the price the Bulldogs paid for the forward.
