Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson got injured against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night, and it has led to some fears in the organization.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to enter the playoff conversation, and it's hard to do when they keep suffering injuries to their blue line.
Brandon Carlo and Chris Tanev are out of the lineup right now, and last night against the San Jose Sharks, Oliver Ekman-Larsson went down with what seemed like a pretty bad injury.
OEL had to be helped off the ice by his teammates, and when you look at the footage of the injury, it appears to be pretty bad.

When is Oliver Ekman-Larsson coming back?

However, the Maple Leafs are catching a bit of a break this morning thanks to an update from TSN insider Darren Dreger, who spoke about what went down.
As he explains, the expectation is for OEL to potentially play tomorrow. While it isn't guaranteed, this is still a lot better than what was feared to be the case.
The news appears to be better than expected for OEL. See how he feels in the morning but, the veteran Dman may test his injury tomorrow and if he feels he can play, he will. Surprising considering the pain he was in when he left last nights game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, and they are hoping to get themselves closer to a playoff spot.
Overall, the Atlantic Division has been extremely tight, and while there is no concrete class of the field, everyone seems to be winning right now, which is hurting the Leafs.
A win against the Oilers on Saturday could give the team some confidence, especially with the Chicago Blackhawks coming up on Tuesday.
Whatever the case may be, the Maple Leafs need to keep winning, and that becomes much harder to do when your defenseman are getting injured.
