Toronto Maple Leafs Rival Signs Matt Petgrave

Matt Petgrave has been working to return to hockey, and this past week, it was revealed that he would be signing with a Chicago Blackhawks-affiliated team.
After a two-year hiatus from the game of hockey, Matt Petgrave has been looking to make a comeback in a respectful manner.
Of course, finding a new team has proven to be a difficult task, although there are teams out there who have been thinking it over.
Today, an announcement was made, as a Toronto Maple Leafs rival signed Petgrave to one of their organization's farm teams.
The Chicago Blackhawks, in collaboration with the Indy Fuel of the ECHL, signed the defenseman to a new deal that brings him back to the game.

The Indy Fuel subsequently put out a statement explaining why they ended up making this decision despite the controversy that could ensue.
After in-depth discussions with him and his previous coaches and teammates, we believe he should be afforded the opportunity to continue his playing career. We understand the responsibility that comes with the great support we receive from this community. We are confident he will be a positive addition to our team and our city.
As for Petgrave, he noted just how thankful and excited he is about this opportunity.
I am thankful to the Fuel organization and the city of Indianapolis for allowing me the opportunity to continue my professional career in the sport I love.
We wish Petgrave the best of luck with his new endeavor. Only time will tell whether or not he will be able to handle the professional game after some time away.
