David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok are two Toronto Maple Leafs forwards who are starting to lose their standing with the team, and this has led to a terminal end.
Throughout the entire Summer, Toronto Maple Leafs fans have been hearing about how David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok would be traded.
So far, this has not come to fruition. It seems like teams around the NHL simply aren't taking the bait, and it has left the team in a compromising position.
Throughout training camp, Kampf and Jarnkrok have failed to show why they deserve a spot on the roster, especially with the emergence of Easton Cowan.
The regular season is coming up on October 8th, and this is causing a lot of difficult conversations in the Maple Leafs' front office.
David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok get a wake-up call
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Kampf and Jarnkrok are back on the trading block, as the Leafs are more desperate than ever to make a deal.
Meanwhile, Nick Robertson is back on the trading block as well. Needless to say, the Leafs want to get active and fast.
I believe they've started reaching out to some teams about their bottom six; so guys like Jarnkrok, Kampf, Robertson; their names are starting to pop up slowly again
Trading Kampf, Jarnkrok, and Robertson is unlikely to happen. The Leafs will be lucky to get rid of one of them over the coming weeks.
The likeliest to go will be Robertson, who easily has the best trade value of anyone the Leafs have listed thus far.
Either way, this is going to be a storyline to follow over the coming weeks. Only time will tell if teams want to buy what the Maple Leafs are selling.
