The Toronto Maple Leafs have yet to sign a new deal with goalie Anthony Stolarz, and according to Darren Dreger, things are starting to get very real.
Anthony Stolarz and the Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to work on a new contract that will keep the goaltender with the team for the foreseeable future.
Overall, Stolarz was one of the best goalies in the league last season, and he is definitely deserving of a new contract that pays him a lot of money.
Both sides are trying to get the contract done before the regular season starts on October 8th, although there is no guarantee this will be the case.

According to Darren Dreger, Stolarz is strong-arming the Maple Leafs right now, as it appears as though he has all of the leverage in the world.
In fact, the Maple Leafs are being positioned to acquiesce to the goaltender's demand of having a four-year deal, even though the Leafs want to sign him for three.
The Leafs would much prefer a 3 year term; they might have to settle at a 4 year team at $4.5m AVV; I expect something is going to get done
Overall, Stolarz is looking at $18 million total, which is about what John Tavares is making this season.
Ultimately, the Maple Leafs should be excited about having their goaltender on the team for the long haul. With Joseph Woll, this is an unstoppable duo.
The next few weeks will be very interesting to watch as the deadline for a contract gets closer and closer.
