Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander remains one of the best players on the team, but with a retool on the horizon, trade proposals are being thrown around.
Going into the NHL trade deadline, there is a whole lot of speculation surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs and what kind of moves they will make.
For now, it seems like the team is looking for a retool. Instead of trading away their superstars, the team is probably going to give up some of their role players, like Bobby McMann and Nicolas Roy.
Having said that, some pretty wild trade proposals are starting to materialize on social media, and some are much dumber than others.
In fact, one trade proposal began making the rounds on Facebook recently, and it involves William Nylander to the Montreal Canadiens.
William Nylander for Ivan Demidov
This mock trade involves Nylander going to the Montreal Canadiens for rookie forward Ivan Demidov and a second-round pick in 2026.
Quite frankly, this is a trade that would make no one happy. The Leafs fans would hate losing Nylander, while Habs fans would hate losing Demidov.
As you can see from the reactions below, very few people actually like this deal, and they are making those feelings known.
Habs fans and Leafs fans are complaining. Thankfully, for them, there is no chance that they end up getting dealt for one another,
If you are a Maple Leafs fan, these next few weeks are going to be fascinating to watch, for a multitude of reasons.
Only time will tell whether or not the trade deadline turns out to be a lucrative endeavor for the franchise.
