An insider dropped a bombshell that put some clarity on Quinn Hughes' future with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks missed the playoffs following a disappointing season marked by locker room controversies and injuries.
In the end-of-season interview, General Manager Jim Rutherford made a massive declaration when he talked about Quinn Hughes' future with the team.
The captain has two more seasons on his contract, and unless the Canucks want to see him walk away from the team with nothing in return in free agency, considering trading him or extending his contract would make sense.
Rutherford mentioned that Hughes would like to play with his brothers Luke and Jack, who are with the New Jersey Devils, fueling trade rumors between the Canucks and the Devils.
The GM revealed that things are pretty much out of his control, unless they try to bring in Quinn's brothers, but didn't share much more, fearing tampering allegations:
"You know, he's said before that he wants to play with his brothers, and, uh, that would be partly out of our control - unless we brought his brothers here.

So, yeah, there are a lot of moving parts. I agree 100%. This franchise simply can't afford to lose a guy like Quinn Hughes. We're going to do everything we can to keep him here, but at the end of the day, it'll be his decision.

Now, we've got to be careful about tampering, so we'll just leave it at that."
Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald replied in a press conference, but ultimately couldn't comment on another team's players:
"Well, I'm not going to speculate on a comment about another team's player. Um, you'd really have to ask Jim about that.

As for me, you know, we're going to evaluate our own team-look at where we need to upgrade a few things. And again, I can't comment on another player."
While nothing has been confirmed yet, the renowned reporter Larry Brooks believes it's only a matter of time before we see the three brothers together.
