Tomas Hertl seemingly cost the Vegas Golden Knights a win over the Buffalo Sabres, and after the game, Bruce Cassidy didn't hold back when asked about the play that would ultimately cost them a crucial point.

The Vegas Golden Knights had their game against the Buffalo Sabres wrapped up on Saturday night, but unfortunately, a major blunder would allow them to tie the game late.
While the loss can't entirely be blamed on veteran Tomas Hertl, his decision to pass to Jack Eichel rather than shoot at the empty net was a head scratching one that allowed Buffalo to tie the game late before ending it in a shootout.
Given his experience at the NHL level, the decision was absolutely baffling, and after the game, Head Coach Bruce Cassidy was quick to call out the play from Hertl which cost them the game.
"I'd like to see him shoot the puck in the net and end the game that's what I'd like to see. I think the whole team would like to see that."
It wasn't just on Hertl however, although he made the most outrageous move of them all, as Cassidy singled out their lack of respect as a reason why they fell in a game that they should have won.
"A total lack of respect. Probably most of the night, but the way it kind of ended probably sums that up."

Unfortunately, in a long NHL season, this type of play can happen and hurt a team, but with so much talent on the ice, it's likely that Hertl will learn from his mistake and bounce back as this is still a team that has lofty Stanley Cup goals in 2024/25.
