Capitals Get Creative With Fan Giveaways Next Season
The Washington Capitals unveiled their promotional calendar featuring all the giveaways this season. Among the giveaways is a Sonny Milano chia pet.
Milano has become well known around the league for featuring some pretty cool lettuce up top.
The innovative giveaway night will take place at the Capital One Arena on January 11, 2024, during the game against the Seattle Kraken. The Chia Pet allows fans to grow a flowering plant on top of a terracotta figurine, emulating Milano's distinctive curly hair poof.
The Chia Pet was a hit with the 90s pop culture. You would spread seeds on a figurine, allowing them to sprout and grow over a few weeks. In this case, fans will be able to recreate Milano's famous hairstyle in plant form.
In his first season in Washington the 27 year old scored 11 goals and 33 points in 64 games while averaging 12:54 in ice time. He has proven that he can be a reliable option in the bottom six of an NHL lineup.
