PK Subban's Shocking Ovechkin Take Sparks Outrage from LeBron James Fans

After years and years of incredible buildup, Alex Ovechkin made NHL history this past weekend, potting goal number 895, officially passing him for first all-time in league history.

That led to people from all over the sporting world congratulating the Washington Capitals superstar, including LeBron James, who was brought up by former NHLer PK Subban on ESPN's First Take after Ovechkin made history.

In the segment, Subban made the statement that over his career, Ovechkin has been more durable than James, and while both have been incredible, with LeBron passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA's all-time leading point scorer, but given the physical nature of the sport of hockey, it's hard to argue his point.

That's what co-hosts Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith tried to do, but they missed the entire point of Subban's argument, and as a result, Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane was in the replies on social media making a fantastic point.

In the past, we've already seen that Smith has very little idea about the sport of hockey, with both bringing incredible bias to the argument on a network that's done very little to grow the game of hockey in North America, and as a result, very little was resolved except for plenty of talking over each other.

Simply put, in a sport like hockey that's so tough and so physical, especially when it comes to the post-season, there's few athletes in the history of North American sports more durable than Ovechkin, and while James is incredible in his own right and remains in the GOAT conversation in the NBA, it's hard to argue that Subban could be right here.
