Over the last two season George Parros has faced a ton of criticism from teams, players and fans about his performance of the NHL's Department of Player Safety. However, it appears that Gary Bettman doesn't share that same sentiment about the job Parros has done.
While this comment is surprising to some, to many it's just another example of Bettman protecting his product. For a league that refuses to acknowledge CTE, it's not a shock that Bettman would compliment Parros' inconsistent performance in his role. It is however expected new head of the NHL Players Association, Marty Walsh will have some sort of conversation this summer with the league about player safety.
