The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing off against the Washington Capitals in what is a very important game in the standings, the Leafs have just a two point cushion keeping them in third place in the Atlantic Division and the Capitals are in a wild card spot after struggling early in the season.
This game is only in the first period, but it's been rather physical so far, highlighted by none other than Alex Ovechin himself who delivered a thunderous hit on the neutral zone on Leafs defender Jake McCabe, take a look.
You always have to keep your head up when Alex Ovechkin is on the ice, even at 38 years old, he still absolutely loved the physical side of the game and he caught McCabe with a perfect, textbook hit.
Near the end of the first period, this game still has a lot of bite to it, with Toronto leading by a score of 1-0, I'm sure this isn't the only time Ovechkin will make some noise in this game.
Ovi is a throw back type of player who's been a pure goal scorer throughout his entire career and always had fun laying people out along the way.
