The Chicago Blackhawks announced that veteran forward Jason Dickinson will miss the remainder of the season today.
The Blackhawks season is effectively over as the team has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
In fact, at this point, it is only a matter of where the team finishes in the draft lottery rankings.
Currently, the team has the 2nd-best odds as they sit in 31st place, four points ahead of the Sharks.
That being said, the Hawks will be down a veteran forward for the final 11 games of the season after head coach Anders Sorensen revealed that Jason Dickinson is out with a wrist injury today.
Dickinson was injured on Saturday during the Blackhawks' game versus the St. Louis Blues.
It would seem as though he injured his wrist in the fight.
Dickinson is a Swiss army knife kind of player, playing up and down the lineup for the Hawks over the past three seasons.
He brings grit, toughness, and defensive reliability and is not afraid to step up when his team needs him.
Dickinson has 7 goals and 16 points through 59 games this season. He is up to 68 career goals and 155 points in 502 games.
The 29-year-old is signed for one more season with Chicago, carrying a 4.25 million dollar cap hit.
