After a grueling two months of playoff hockey it has been revealed that Connor McDavid requires off-season surgery.

Without a question winning the Stanley Cup is the most difficult trophy in all of pro sports. It takes 16 grueling wins and up to 28 games to capture the championship. By the end of the season, almost every player is nursing some form of injury.

In the final two games of the season Edmonton Oilers' forward Connor McDavid was clearly laboring. McDavid was missing his normal explosiveness and the power behind his shot and now it has been revealed why. According to Euler's Nation, McDavid requires off-season abdominal surgery to repair an injury he suffered..

"Oilersnation has learned. McDavid has played through an abdominal injury that likely requires surgery, while Draisaitl has been banged up too, I've been told. He's believed to be dealing with a broken rib and finger."
- Zach Laing

The Oilers were able to push a game. 7 but with all the injuries they could go no further. It is also been reported in game one against the Vancouver Canucks that forward Leon Draisaitl also suffered a broken rib and broken finger. Over the next couple of days it is likely that we will hear more and more about this, but it is clear the Oilers did everything possible and left it all in the ice.
