Rod Brindamour reveals forwards season is likely over
The Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Islanders are facing off in a first round playoff series hurricanes head, coach, Rod Brind'Amour revealed that a key forward would be out for the playoffs in hat could be a very tough loss as their opening round series gets deeper, but also throughout the rest of what they hope will be a long playoff run.
According to Brind'Amour himself, forward Jesper Fast will likely not return for the rest of the playoffs, even though he has been making strides in his recovery. NHL.com states Fast is dealing with a neck strain; take a look.
Rod Brind'Amour doesn't expect to have Jesper Fast available at all during the Stanley Cup Playoffs
Fast, 32, played in 73 regular season games for the Carolina Hurricanes this season but has not played in either playoff game after sustaining a neck strain/upper body injury during the teams final regular season game on April 16th. He scored 6 goals and added 13 assists for a total of 19 points. The Hurricanes will definitely miss his depth.
Either way Carolina should make it past the New York Islanders relatively easily in the first round, but as the playoffs get deeper they'll certainly miss the depth Fast provides.
