3rd string goalie forced to play left wing as team battles serious illness outbreak
When sicknesses hits a hockey team it can really take a toll on them. This just recently happened to the Michigan Wolverines hockey club. Six players were not able to play in Michigan's last game due to illness. That is a big part of a team's roster.
Desperate for skaters, Michigan called on it's third string goalie to suit up and play forward. Michigan's next game is against the number two ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers tonight. Let's hope a few skaters have recovered and are feeling better.
One Michigan defenseman, Steven Holtz, is currently in ICU with a virus. Let's hope he is okay and recovers quickly. All teams deal with sickness and injuries at some point during the season. It seems Michigan is getting hit particularly hard right now and it appears it is some type of respiratory illness. There were some comments that some games should be postponed. As of now, that has not happened yet.
