The 2021-22 NHL Season was an All-Time Best for Leafs forward Auston Matthews. Matthews just added the Ted Lindsay Award for most outstanding player in the 21-22 season.
Matthews put up a total of 60 goals, 46 assists and 106 points. He clearly did a lot for the Maple Leafs this year but some would argue that Connor McDavid should of won this award.
So what makes the Ted Lindsay so important? Well unlike the other trophies, the Lindsay is voted on by the players and not the media.
The acknowledgment of Matthews accomplishment by his peers goes a long way to cementing him as one of the best players in the world.
