Barry Trotz reportedly has a deal in place with Western Conference team

Barry Trotz is the hottest coaching target in the league right now. After being relieved of his duties in Long Island. But according to ESPN reporter Emily Kaplan Trotz may not be on the market anymore:

A few people in the league have suggested to me that there could be a deal in place already with Barry Trotz and VGK. Just knowing the way Vegas does business but we'll have to wait to see where Barry Trotz lands before the rest of the chips fall.

Every year in the coaching market there's a shiny new toy and this year it's Barry Trotz. I do think there's going to be some movement this week with the NHL Scouting Combine. That's when a lot of GMs begin their first round of interviews and meetings with people.

Barry Trotz is a popular guy among teams with a coaching vacancy. He has already interviewed for the Winnipeg Jets and Philadelphia Flyers Head Coaching jobs in the last couple weeks.

If reports are true and Trotz is choosing Vegas he must believe in their direction the most out the jobs available. It could turn out to be a good pick the Golden Knights, who have the deepest team compared to the options. Vegas has stars like Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, Alex Pietrangelo and Robin Lehner to name a few. The Golden Knights could be the Flames of the 2022-2023 season an underachieving team that bounces back with a new coach on the bench.

With over 20 years coaching experience and a Stanley Cup ring on his resume. Trotz is a wanted man and gets to call the shots on his next gig.
