The Carolina Hurricanes have been trying to facilitate Ethan Bear's trade request since before this season even began. Now it appears that they have finally found a trade partner for the young defenseman. According to Kevin Weekes the Hurricanes have agreed on a deal to send Bear to the Vancouver Canucks.

I'm told the @Canes are closing on a potential trade of D Ethan Bear and a non @NHL roster player in exchange for a 5th Rd Pick from the @Canucks. Situation remains fluid **

This is the second trade in less than 24 hours for the Canucks, who yesterday acquired Jack Studnicka from the Boston Bruins. It is expected Bear will get a chance to play regularly in Vancouver after falling out of Carolina's defense corps.

Bear was drafted 124th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In 190 games Bear has 47 career points.
