After having successful surgery to repair his knee back in July and then having checked himself into a substance abuse program in October. Price has had multiple setbacks since November, including the COVID shutdown.
Habs' Head Coach Martin St Louis was asked by the media about Price and a possible return after today's practice. The Habs head coach had this to say:
Price has been with the Canadiens since being drafted 5th overall in 2005. This would have been Price's 15th season in Montreal. He is in the midst of an�eight-year, $84 million contract he received from former Montreal Canadiens General Manager, Marc Bergevin who was fired mid season and replaced by Kent Hughes.
Price, 34, is a former�Hart�Trophy winner as the NHL's Most Valuable Player during the 2014-15 season, as well as a two-time Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's top goaltender and the winningest goaltender in Montreal Canadiens history with a 360-247-79 record with a lifetime goals against of 2.50 and .917 save percentage.
