Carey Price career could be in jeopardy, but he shares what he's doing to extend it
Carey Price won the 2022 Masterson Trophy, which goes to those who possess the qualities of perseverance, dedication, and sportsmanship in relationship to the game of Hockey. Price's perseverance with his current injury is inspiring and borne out of dedication to the sport and his team no doubt.
This is why he is using PRP to manage the injury in hopes to return to the ice in the next season.
PRP therapy is a type of regenerative medicine that enhances the body's natural growth factors to help it heal more effectively. The injections are increasingly used to help heal injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. They can also reduce the need for anti-inflammatories or stronger medication.
For someone who underwent surgery after the Stanley Cup Finals last year, it is hard to say whether another surgery would help, but hopefully, this is it right? The Vezina Trophy winner still isn't finished, and Jake Allen will need the help through the current re-tooling.
Coming upon his 15th year in the NHL, the 34-year-old has a current cap hit of $10.5 million for 4 more years with the Montreal Canadiens.
