To begin Saturday night's game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Boston Bruins, Patrice Bergeron had a characteristically classy moment with Tage Thompson.

On the opening faceoff, Bergeron appears to approach Thompson and the two have a seemingly nice chat before puckdrop. The connection between the two is a bit unclear, but Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now clarified what the chat was probably about.

The connection between Bergeron and Tage Thompson's father must have been an important one to a teenage Bergeron from him to remember throughout the years, and to approach Tage at puckdrop. With the context provided, it's just another example of Bergeron's class and professionalism being unmatched in the NHL.

Bergeron has had one of the most illustrious NHL careers in the last 15 years, and Tage Thompson is following up his break-out year in a big way. After scoring 38 goals in 78 games last year, Thompson has 11 goals in 15 games so far this season. With Thompson's career starting to absolutely take off, and a big contract extension in Buffalo, a moment acknowledging his family connection to one of the league's greatest players is fantastic to see.
