We see more and more of this in todays game of hockey sadly, threats made by fans after their team loses a game. I get emotions run high, but it's quite unacceptable.
Now according to Brian Hedger, after Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins and his family were the target of death threats, the Blue Jackets organization is investigating the threats.
This comes after one of the threats made after a recent loss said their entire family should go die.
Listen, I know these guys are professional athletes that make a lot of money and as fans we demand a lot of them while they make millions, but this is complexity deplorable.
Columbus is doing the right thing, looking into this situation and these people should be caught. I don't care how much a team or player struggles, there are some things you cannot do. All this does in reinforce that some people inside and outside of the game need to change
