Sometimes, hockey players get by with a little help from the ref. That was the case with rookie Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Bedard was called a holding the stick penalty on Nick Cousins of the Florida Panthers during a recent game. Unfortunately, he tried to go sit in the wrong penalty box, and had to be corrected by the official.
"Referee Jean Hebert pointed Chicago Blackhawks' Connor Bedard in the right direction after the rookie headed to the wrong penalty box."
It's still early in Bedard's career. Plenty of time to make many more mistakes that get corrected. He'll be fine
